homemade bagles with Kelly…

This is Kelly.

image source: unknown, but a great photo of kelly so i am using it (kudos to whoever took this one of her!)

She and I were roomies a while back I love her dearly (she’s the one for whom, I made this cup cozy). Kelly is adventurous and creative and I think I am more bold in the kitchen when she is there. Regardless of a dish’s palatable success, she simply enjoys the process of cooking—so it’s extra fun to cook with her ; )
She’s moved away to northern Cali but I managed to snag an entire day with her (filled with cooking adventures). Together, we made whole wheat bagels and honey-walnut cream cheese:we used the “five minutes a day dough” to make the bagels and here is the recipe we created for the honey walnut cream cheese.

  • 1. Take half a package of creme cheese (4oz)
  • 2. Add 2 tsp coarsely chopped walnuts (vary according to desired texture)
  • 3. Drizzle with approx 1 tablespoon honey (vary according to your tastes)
  • 4. Simply mix together with a spoon/knife!

I think the best part of day was getting staying up late and  catching up over homemade pumpkin spice lattes we made using this recipe from The Kitchn  (photo below was taken from there)—it was delicious!

Anyone that knows Kelly knows that she gets kooky late at night so it was great fun getting to relive some roommate memories and spend quality time with her!

emmy got quality time with her auntie kel, too :)

There are friendships that wither away, others that remain, and those that continue to blossom and deepen–this is one such friendship : ) Kelly, I sure do love you! Hope you’re having a fantastic birthday!
